Centrally located between Ottawa and Kingston in the Village of Sharbot Lake, the Hwy #7 Community Development Corporation (CDC) is in its 18th year of operation following its initiation as an economic development agency by North Frontenac Community Services in 1979. The CDC is a not-for-profit Ontario Corporation that acts as a liaison between community organizations, the local businesses and government. Acting as an agent to CMHC, CDC provides services to the public (wordprocessing, faxing, copying), acts as an Agent for Unity Savings and Credit Union Ltd., operates CDC promotions, operates a temporary employment agency, as well as many other services listed in this website. Monies earned from these various activities are used to foster economic development in the local area.
